A timeless classic - the chic style of the Bentwood will never go out of fashion.
Timelessly Classic
It's one of the most popular and instantly recognisable chairs of all time. The Bentwood style was developed in the 1850's by Michael Thonet, after he figured out a novel way to bend wood with steam.
The classic no. 14 design was born. Not only was it lightweight, but minimal and stylish too. Restaurants and coffee houses swiftly adopted its elegant design, making it an iconic piece in it's own right.
Award Winning Design
Thonet went on to win a gold medal at the Worlds Fair for his affordable design which could be easily mass produced. Its easy to see why pubs, restaurants and cafe's alike keep going back to this timeless style.
The Bentwood Slatted Back Dining Chair has the option to keep its traditional style, or opt for a more modern look with a seat pad. Available in Antique Walnut or Wenge, the possibilities are endless with mixing and matching round contemporary tables.
